We are so excited for school to start! Thank you to everyone who has been apart of the gardens first season. Now- EAT THOSE VEGGIES!!!

Boyd Elementary and Pipkin Middle School

In order to heal the disconnect between over-processed meals and where wholesome food comes from, we planned to create a school garden with the capacity for year-round growing. This particular garden is very unique. The property was graciously donated from Cox North, so its location can benefit two R-12 schools in Midtown Neighborhood. Boyd Elementary and Pipkin Middle school plan to attend the garden at least once a week during the growing seasons. We have a focus on not only healthy eating, but Mathematics and Science. The children are able to take lessons learned in the classroom and apply them to a real life situations here in the garden. We have a goal of raising enough money for a high tunnel so that the children can continue to grow through the winter months.

Ultimately, we hope children will learn the value and healthful lessons in growing, harvesting, and preserving their own food.
